Q4 2023 Recap: Top City Building Games on Android in Europe

As we close the books on the fourth quarter of 2023, we're taking a moment to assess the landscape of city building games on the Android platform in Europe. Thanks to data from Sensor Tower, we've got a clear picture of how the top games in this category have fared during this period.

First up is Global City: Building Games, which saw a notable rise in revenue from $14K to $23K, peaking in the last week of December. Downloads experienced a surge in late October with 76K but trended downwards to 18K by the year's end. Weekly active users hit a high of 131K in late October but dipped to 69K as Q4 wrapped up.

Despite not generating revenue, Плюс Сити — симулятор города had an interesting journey. Downloads peaked in mid-November at 77K, while weekly active users grew steadily, reaching over 1.6M by the end of December.

The Czech-developed Transport Tycoon Empire: City showed revenue fluctuations, ending on a high note at $18K. Downloads peaked at 53K in late October and leveled out at 41K in December. Weekly active users reached their zenith at 136K in late October, closing the quarter at 133K.

ELECTRONIC ARTS' SimCity BuildIt remained a strong contender with its revenue oscillating, hitting a peak at $108K in mid-December. Downloads saw a notable spike at 67K in mid-November, while weekly active users saw a high of 561K in late November but ended at 480K.

Lastly, State Connect: Traffic Control from CASUAL AZUR GAMES had modest revenue figures, ending Q4 with $965. Downloads had a high point of 52K at the end of October, and weekly active users showed an uptick, finishing at 59K.
